Biography.

Laura Sophie von der Goltz began her musical journey with early childhood violin lessons, although her true passion for music developed later in life. She received her foundational education at the Berufsfachschule fuer Musik in Bad Königshofen under the guidance of Prof. Wezel. Laura went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Violin and Elementary Music Education from HfK Bremen, where she studied EMP with Prof. Stiller, violin with Prof. Klug and Baroque violin Veronika Skuplik.

Laura continued her education at the Royal Conservatoire Den Haag, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Baroque Violin under the tutelage of Prof. Terakado, Gatti, and Rachel Beesley. During this time, she also studied modern viola as a minor subject at Codarts Rotterdam with Karin Dolmann. She then pursued a Master's degree in Innovative Performance Practice (NAIP) at Koncon, studying with Kati Debrezni and jazz violinist Cristiano Vivian. Throughout her academic journey, Laura was inspired and guided by her mentor Prof. Petra Müllejans.

Her musical style is notably versatile, with a specialization in French Baroque and world music, including tango and klezmer. Laura's involvement in Capoeira has deeply influenced her, leaving a lasting impression of Afro-Brazilian musical culture. Additionally, her time in Bremen allowed her to engage closely with the electronic music scene, leading to numerous collaborations.

Professionally, Laura is driven by a passion for music as such and a strong interest in sharing it as a medium for social purposes. Her career encompasses various focal points: performing Baroque and other music genres, teaching violin and diverse group courses, conducting educator training, and leading seminars on music curation. Laura is also involved in artistic research and free creative projects. She is particularly interested in redefining and expanding the boundaries of the musician's role.

Laura is passionate about the power of music in social contexts, believing in its magical ability to improve the world. She enjoys creative writing, composing poems and children's songs, and works as a coach for team-building activities.
