When I was asked 2021 to write an essay along with other students of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague as a contribution to Paul Crane's book "The Promise of Music," I initially had difficulty finding words to express how I felt about the topic. It wasn't until one day that I realized it wasn't the topic but the form that was the issue. To express something that truly mattered to me, I needed a form that didn't drown my words in academic clichés but directly addressed my audience and allowed them to draw their own conclusions.
